Vasu was hailed as the most competent director in the industry with the runaway hit of Chandramukhi. He had
wanted to direct Rajini’s next film also. But now that we know it’s going to be Shankar, he attempted to direct a Kamal film. That did not come through as well. So, he decided to go ahead with a film on his own. Ajith, who is desperately in need of a hit, to retain his place in the industry, will be the hero of Vasu’s next film titled Paramasivan. Vidyasagar is the music director. Suresh Urs will be the editor. The formal launch of the film was held at Chennai this morning. Akila Balu Mahendra, Kannamma Ramkumar, Punithavathi Prabu, Shanthi Vasudevan and Shalini Ajithkumar lit the traditional lamp. Samrat Film Corporation is the producer.

When he was considered down and out after a series of flops, Ajith did not lose hope.
When producer Khaja Mohideen pointed fingers at him for taking the extreme step, Ajith again kept a dignified silence.
Now it is pay back time for Ajith. And he hopes to do it through his films.
As a major shot in the arm has come AVM's announcement to do their 167th film starring Ajith in the lead role.
Meanwhile, the actor has silently commenced a new film following Godfather directed by Ravikumar. The new movie titled Paramasivan to be directed by P Vasu hit the floors on Saturday.
A low-key affair, the movie's muhurat went off smoothly. The movie was initially titled Idi, but has now been changed Paramasivan.
Ajith has Laila for company and Vidyasagar has been roped into score music for the movie. The big news is: Ajith is back very strongly.

There is a general opinion in film industry that there is a cold war between Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay and Ultimate Star Ajith. This can be seen in their recent releases. But director Perarasu who is directing Sivakasi with Vijay and Tirupathi with Ajith says that “Ajith and Vijay are good friends. But only persons around them make the news very elusive.” After, the movie Tirupathi was conformed, Vijay was the first to convey wishes to Perarasu.
