Novelty is the essence of life and cinema. Kollywood
strives for newness in
everything. Take the case of Godfather. What's new in it?
Well, it has four
camera persons.
After Cheran's Autograph, four cinematographers have come
together to work
for Ajith starrer Godfather.
According to director K S Ravikumar, 'the movie has P C
Sreeram cranking the
camera for song sequences, Priyan for a couple of songs,
Prasadh who was the
cinematographer of Padayappa and Arthur Wilson have also
cranked a few
scenes in the movie.
Four cinematographers coming together to give their best
is a bit of a
rarity in Tamil cinema.
Some uncharitable sections have it that four camera
persons may have been a
necessity (due to date problems) and the unit is now
making a virtue out of
it.
A major portion of the movie has been completed and
Godfather will grace
theatres this Deepavali.
Meanwhile, Ajith's Tirupathi goes to floors on 15
September.

We are not referring here to the Tirupathi of Lord
Venkateswara. It is about the film 'Tirupathi' starring
Ajith.
To celebrate 60 years of AVM in a grand manner, the
company is producing films featuring Ultimate Star Ajith
and Superstar Rajinikanth.
Rajinikanth
The date for inaugural pooja of 'Sivaji' has not yet
been finalized. They are awaiting an auspicious date to
be specified by Rajini. In the meantime, AVM Saravanan
went ahead with fixing the date for the inaugural pooja
of 'Tirupathi' featuring Ajith, which will take place on
the 15th of this month at the 3rd level of AVM Studios.
Who else could be more important than Rajinikanth at
such functions? To show that he is also part of the AVM
family, the pooja is supposed to be inaugurated by
Rajini lighting the lamp.
AVM Saravanan has already issued Rajini a formal
invitation for the pooja. The superstar has promised to
attend if he is in town.
Picking
up steam again - 03/09/2005

The career of Laila is pretty interesting.
She has the looks. She has the skills. She is bubbly. But
somehow, her career has not taken off as it should have.
Laila started her career in a big way only to lose her
steam in middle.
However, she managed to bag a plump role in Prakashraj's
home production Kanda Naal Mudhal, which is due for
release soon.
Meanwhile the good news from Laila's camp is that she
has bagged the heroine's role in Ajith's next venture
titled Idi (meaning Thunder) to be directed by P Vasu
for director Bala's B Studios.
Laila and Ajith had last appeared together for Dheena, a
few years ago. Idi will go to floors later this month.
Hope Laila succeeds in her comeback venture and does
many more movies.
