‘Ji’ collapses, ‘Constantine’ rises! 21/02/2005

Ajit’s Ji is turning out to be a disaster of epic
proportion and the trade feels that it will be a bigger
flop than his Anjaneya.
In its second week the competition from Sukran has also
affected Ji collections to a very large extent. From a
100 percent opening the film has fallen to 30 percent
collections in its second week in all stations.
Huge theatres like Sathyam, which was hoping that Ji
will cover March are now changing the film next Friday!
Warner Brothers is the lucky beneficiary as Constantine
gets playing time in theatres all over Tamilnadu
including the huge Sathyam theatre.
Constantine, the Keanu Reeves starrer (see pic), which
is an action-horror that opened last Friday in US and is
said to be a good entertainer in which Reeves plays a
chain smoking cancer ridden guy who dispatches demons
back to the underworld!
In TamilConstantine is dubbed with a catchy title-
Nagarama Narakama? and is said to be like Kallarai
Manithan(Van Helsing) last years biggest Hollywood hit
dubbed into Tamil.
So Ajit’s loss is Keanu Reeves gain!
Godfather`-Still sulking! – 26/02/2005
Source Moviebuzz
It seems Ajit has taken the failure of Ji to heart. He
has become moody and irritable and his fans are hurling
choice epithets at its director Lingusamy who is being
blamed for this fiasco.
But the big question in industry circles and trade is-"When
will the shoot of Godfather be revived and what are
Ajit's future plans?" As far as the film is concerned,
Ajit is not on talking terms with its producer Nic Arts
Chakravarthy, who was the actor's close friend and
producer of almost all his recent films.
Meanwhile, K.S.Ravikumar the director of Godfather is
trying to bring both the warring friends turned enemies
to the table and sort out issues. He has promised
distributors who are funding the film that the shoot
would start by March 7 and the film would be completed
in
One schedule.
One of the heroines Asin, has threatened to walk out as
she cannot just sit at home after doling out dates for
the film. A.R.Rahman has completed two songs. And now it
is for Ajit to be magnanimous, sit up and take control
of his career. The actor should understand that he is
still saleable provided he chooses his films with a
little more care.
Enigmatic controversy – 02/03/2005

Ajith is never really out of controversies.
His Ji has got a mixed response. Many say that the
film's collections are dropping. Maybe or may not be.
But the point is that the innuendoes and insinuations
seem to have affected Ajith.
A man who always likes to speak his mind and is often
mistaken for his forthrightness, Ajith is not able to
take all the motivated criticism in his stride.
The net result is that his relationship with Nic Arts
Chakravarthy has soured.
The latter made Ji and is making his next Godfather too.
That is where the rub lies.
As the duo is not in the best of terms, the film's
schedule has been hit and the director K S Ravikumar is
left twiddling his thumb.
Heroine of the film Asin is also not happy with the
state of affairs.
Grapevine has it that Chakravarthy does not want to do
the film any more. So he is looking for a buyer.
Among the names being bandied about are Ravikumar
himself and a leading producer who makes family
sentimental films.
Ravikumar is also going out of the way to say that the
film's shoot would begin soon and everything will be all
right soon.
Ironically, A R Rehman who is generally known to keep
everyone waiting, has composed two songs already. Now
they are waiting to be shot.
