Catch a peacock, break its leg and then ask it to dance.
K S Ravikumar is in a position, quite something like
that.
A person who usually reaps the fruits of his efforts in
3 months, has been cornered into inactivity because of
the stars of 2 of his films - superstar’s ‘Jakkubai’ and
ultimate star’s ‘Godfather.’
As far as ‘Jakkubai’ is concerned, it was a one line
story by Rajini. But the screenplay somehow evolved with
shades of ‘Basha’ in it.
Not satisfied, superstar discarded the project and
hopped on to the ‘Chandramukhi’ bandwagon. K S lost more
than 15 months, in coming up with 9 screenplays for the
one line by Rajini.
Ajith gave his full call sheet for ‘Godfather.’ The K S
unit spread the word around that ‘Godfather’ would be a
worthy rival to ‘Chandramukhi.’ Unfortunately, financial
troubles paid put to that and as shooting for
‘Godfather’ came to a standstill, Ajith joined the line
of stars hopping into another film project. For ‘Naan
Kadavul,’ Ajith has actually grown his hair long. The
only person left in the lurch is Ravikumar.
After the release of ‘Anniyan,’ Oscar Films plans to
make a film with Kamal in the lead and KS has already
started work for them on this project.
Hopefully at least this will see light of day.
Ajith appearing different in Bala’s next - 04/07/2005

Bala is all set to go with his new film. He has proved
his potential with two films `Kaadhal Kondein' and `Pithamagan'.
The strength of the films were the characterization of
the protagonist. The story budded out of the character
and there was otherwise no plot in it. He has excelled
the art of characterization and has earned accolades
from the likes of Mani Ratnam.
Bala is on a consecutive success spree. He is now ready
for his 4th venture. Likewise, the film also revolves
around the central character and has been titled `Naan
Kadavul'. Ajith will play the lead and to suit the
characterization he is going for a makeover. Ajith is
growing his hair long for the film. The shooting for the
film will take place in Kasi and Madurai.
Ajith is playing an aggressive role in the film. With
his talent and versatility he'll surely do justice to
the role. He is pinning lots of hope on the film, which
can save his drowning career. Ajith's another film is `Godfather'
which has been shelved for sometime.

Finally Ajit's bad days seems to be coming to an end.
His Godfather has once again started rolling in
Hyderabad from last Friday. Says director K.S.Ravikumar:
"Everything has been sorted out amicably between the
crew and the producer. I hope to complete the film in 50
to 55 days including the songs in two schedules".
The man who has been responsible for the breakthrough is
L.Suresh of Ananda Pictures a leading Chennai based
distributor who is also the president of distributors
association. As per the deal worked out between the
actor and Nic Arts Chakravarthy, the producer of
Godfather is that Ajit himself will pay Rs 2 Crore to
him!
This will be paid to the producer at the time of the
final settlement, a day before the release. The amount
of Rs 2 Crore will be given as an interest free loan by
L.Suresh to Ajit who will later do a film for him in
return.
Meanwhile Ajit has shaved his beard but kept the long
hair which he was growing to get the "look of the
character" that he is playing in Bala's Njan Kadavul
Than. The Godfather settlement comes as a big relief for
the actor who has been going through a horrendous phase
in his career.
Now things are bound to improve for Ajit as a leading
Chennai based astrologer has predicted that "2006 will
be Ajit's year in Kollywood". Three cheers to Thalai!
