If I have money, fame and a good lifestyle now, I owe it
to Ajith," SJ Surya

SJ Surya's words inspire confidence. It is very
interesting to hear him talk about his struggles in the
film industry and how he made itto the top finally.
"My favorite actors are MGR, Shivaji and Rajinikanth,"
he says.
Throughout his career as an assistant director, he had
worked with almost everybody in the film industry.
"'Aasai' was my first film as an assistant. Ajith was
paid Rs 25000 for the film," he continues. Ajith was so
impressed by his hard work and dedication that he gladly
accepted the 'Vaali' offer. "If I have money, fame and a
good lifestyle now, I owe it to Ajith," SJ Surya says.
According to him, Tamil film industry has four giants-
Bharaitraaja, Balachander, Balu Mahendra and Bhagyaraj.
"I have worked with Balachander's assistant Vasanth. I
have also worked with JD-Jerry who were assistants with
Balu Manehdra and with many of K
Bhagyaraj's assistants. I have worked with Bharatiraaja
himself. I simply have
extracted their essence and bring them in my films," he
says and bursts into laughter. So, what's his secret
formula?
"People come to watch films because they want to be
entertained.
They will start running away if you preach. These are
people who wouldn't listen to their parents. What makes
you think that strangers like me could advise them? My
policy is very simple- give them entertainment for 2
hours and 30 minutes."

Red card for Ajith? – 25/05/2005
Source Cinesouth
"He did not give call sheet for 'Godfather.' Even before
completing the film, he went off to start work on Bala's
'Naan Kadavul.' I've suffered big losses because of this."
When producer Nik Arts Chakravarthy complained to the
Producers Association, they gave Ajith the red card.
When word got around, Ajith's reputation went for a toss.
What is the truth behind this? We made a call to Ajith's
office. The outcome is interesting, but will not make
Ajith's fans happy.
"'Godfather' will definitely be released, but not as
quickly as has been expected. Ajith is now busy with
discussions for 'Naan Kadavul' and is even growing his
hair long and a beard for that."
Work on 'Naan Kadavul' has started recently. Ajith can
complete his shooting in 'Godfather' during the
intermittent free time.
Then, why the red card?
