In the last few years, there was always a stiff contest
between actor Vivek and Vadivelu for the numero uno
comedian slot in Kollywood.
There seems to be another contender in the ring ready
for the bout now.
Actor SumanShetty, who made his debut in Jeyam with
Jeyam Ravi and followed it with an excellent portrayal
alongside Ravi Krishna in 7G Rainbow Colony, is slowly
moving up the ladder.
An elated Suman Shetty says, when I was in my school
final, I got a call from director Teja to act in Telugu
version of Jeyam. I reluctantly accepted the role. But
to my surprise, the movie went on to become a craze and
I was immediately in the spotlight.
Similarly when Jeyam was remade here, I was the
automatic choice of the producer editor Mohan. Then
happened 7G Rainbow Colony. Today, I am a busy actor
here with a lot of offers including Ajith starrer God
Father'.
On his future aspirations, Suman Shetty, a great admirer
of comedian Senthil, says, 'I want to prove my
credentials as a good comedy actor and win the hearts of
the public.
A serious comedian indeed.

It is Ajit's birthday on May 1. He has immense screen
presence and his films take a bumper opening at the
box-office.
But off late, the talented actor is going through a bad
phase as his last few films did not set the cash
registers ringing. But we are sure that he will bounce
back with the support of his loyal fans.
After the Godfather shoot cancellation, Ajit is not in
the best of his moods. His office says that this year
they will not be celebrating his birthday with the usual
pomp or grandeur associated with star birthdays.
Ajit should take some time off and re-invent himself.
His next film will be with director Bala which will
certainly boost his career.
We at Sify.com wish him a very Happy Birthday!
Vijay & Ajith?! 03/05/2005

Tamil industry has seen the clash of titans over the
decades.
First, it was MGR vs Sivaji, then Rajini vs Kamal.
However, away from the arc lights, they were really good
friends and shared good personal rapport. It is a
tribute to the stars' dedication to the profession that
they kept professional rivalry separated from true
friendship.
However, a disturbing trend emerged when Vijay and Ajith
indulged in wordy duels both on-screen and away from it.
The spats flew back and forth. Their movies had
provocative dialogues against the other guy and the
songs were openly contemptuous. Now the storm seems to
have blown past as both have mellowed down and vowed to
concentrate
only on their work and stay away from controversies.
Whatever brought this change of thinking, it is good for
all concerned.
