Meera Jasmine irks Ajith     02/22/03

Tamil heroes were more than willing to act with Meera Jasmine because her 'Run' ran very well. Nothing wrong with it. Meera Jasmine became cautious and shot up her rates. Ajith is the latest victim of this price hike.

In spite of the poor performance of 'Bala', producers were only too ready to give her whatever she claimed. so, she demanded 50 Lakhs (the amount that Jyothika demanded two years ago). (Does Meera know what happened to Jyothika afterwards?)

Since Meera Jasmine was a Malayalee girl who had earned a good name in Tamil, Ajith recommended her for 'Mahaa'. But, when director Raviradha went to Kerala to meet her and sign her up for the film, she demanded 50 Lakhs and went ahead to treat him with disrespect.

A very offended Raviradha spoke to Ajith and asked if he really wanted such a troublesome star for his film.

Ajith was embaresses because the director had to go through all that because he had recommended the girl. So, he has asked the director to look for another actress to play the role for the time being.

This is the standard answer that the whole unit of 'Mahaa' gives.

Ajith fractures his knee badly     02/18/03
 

After completing 'Villain' Ajith is busy with 'Mahaa' these days. The film's shooting is on at Campa Cola grounds, Chennai. Since it is an action film, shooting is on under the supervision of stunt choreographer Kanal Kannan.

A few days ago, a very important scene was being picturized on Ajith. He was standing on an elevated base. Vilain's henchmen were supposed to rush and attack him. That was when he slipped and fell. His right knee was injured and he ended up with a torn ligament.

He was rushed to Apollo Hospitals. He has his leg wrapped in bandages. Doctors have ordered strict rest for the next few weeks.
