From the Archives, comes 'Thaalatta Varuvaala'
Nightmare time for Ajith
02/11/03
For
along time, Ajith himself would have forgotten a film
called 'Thalatta Varuvala'. It is now back to haunt him.
After the success of 'Kadhal Kottai' Tamil cinema became
obsessed with love stories. Before 'Amarkalam', even
Ajith was concentrating on such films only. 'Thalatta
Varuvala' began in that season.
Due to financial crisis, the film was canned. But, each
year, with sincere dedication, ads popped up everywhere
announcing that the film will be released that year.
Nothing happened.
This time, it is believed that nobody's joking.
They are making frantic attempts to release the film
this year to cash in on Ajith's popularity.
It is usual for filmmakers to dig up some old films or
another language film done by a popular star, to cash in
on his popularity. They normally release these films as
if they were brand new films. Ajith is now the victim.
It has been more than 4 years now since the film was
made. The Ajith in this film and the Afjith that we see
these days are poles apart. Ajith is worried that this
film will unleash innumerable witticisms about him
appearance.
His heroine in this film, Reshma, is someone who barely
made an impact on the Tamil cine industry. Everybody's
already sure that the film is a flop.
Short is Sweet

'Dhil', 'Run', 'Dhool'…ever since these films
became massive hits, Tamil cine industry is now
witnessing the latest sentiment- Short Names.
Actors like Vikram, Vijay, Ajith, Prashanth and
Silambarasan have movies with names like 'Saami', 'Geethai',
'Mahaa', 'Janaa', 'Jai' and 'Dhum'. Ajith's two latest
films ('Mahaa' and 'Janaa') fall under this category.
Meera Jasmine's case is more worth observing. Both her
films ('Run' and 'Bala') have short names!
