Ajith's Attagasam - Highlights

By Galatta       08/09/04

Come Diwali and there is sure to be lot of fire works and celebrations for Ajith’s fans. His Attagasam directed by Saran is getting released on D day. Saran who is riding high after the success of Vasool Raja MBBS, also handles the story, screenplay and dialogues. Here are the highlights of the movie
• Ajith appears in a dual role for the film. In one character he plays a mama’s boy who is a driving school tutor and the other character he plays a local dada in Tuticorin. Ajith has taken extreme care such that his mannerism and body language is not repeated.
• Saran says Ajith as a tutor has excelled in comedy and is sure to bring the roof down. His sense of timing is fantastic.
• With the budget not being a constraint for producer P. Karthikeyan, he has used the latest imported cars in the driving school.
• Each of the six stunt sequences are choreographed uniquely by Super Subbarayan. A stunt sequence held in a Prawn farm near Mahabalipuram forms the highlight.
• Pooja is doing a highly glamourous role.
• Cinematographer A.Venkatesh has used a new technique to capture all the double action scenes.
• Right from Kadhal Mannan days the trio Ajith, Saran and Baradhwaj have given successful music. Now they get together again for Attagasam to create the same magic. Saran and Baradhwaj composed the music in Malaysia. This was the birth place of six songs which is sure to rock the audience.
Are the viewers going to be in for the same visual treat as Ajith and Saran did in their earlier Amarkkalam? Let’s wait for the festival of lights.

Saran on Pooja of Attagasam

By Galatta      09/09/04

When Saran was shooting for Jay Jay, he requested debutant Pooja to complete his movie and then accept other offers. This was because Saran was very sure that the movie would be the perfect launching pad for her. He is said to have told her that if she did not get interesting offers after Jay Jay he would definitely give her another chance.
It was rather unfortunate that the movie did not give her a good break and her other film Ullam Ketkumae is still lying in the cans.
Director Saran decided to fulfill his promise by offering her a role in Attagasam opposite Ajith. Saran, this time is sure that Pooja will get proper recognition in the industry after the movie is released.

'I dubbed for Ajith' - Vikram

By Cinesouth      04/09/04

Vikram is a superstar in Tamil films now. But, success didn't come easily to this talented hero.

He was in a reminiscing mood when he began narrating his earlier works. "I had dubbed for Ajith in his first film 'Amaravathi'. The friendship and bond that was established during the making of the film continues even now. I still go to his house. He gives pretty lavishdinners to guests.

"His film 'Vaali' is my favorite film."

About Kamalhasan, he said, "You shouldn't see the actor on the screen.
You should see the character. Kamal was the biggest role model for this adage. He told me once that I act better than others. It was indeed a big compliment coming from him."

Modesty, thy name is Vikram.
