This summer will see the release of some of the most
awaited movies in Tamil cinema. Top actors will be
battling each other to win the hearts of the cine goers.
Competition has never been so stiff. A close look at
some of the movies expected to produce fireworks.
"Ayudha Ezhuthu", will be about the lives of three young
men played by Surya, Madhavan and Siddharth. Cast
opposite them will be Trisha, Meera Jasmine and Esha
Deol. Made in Hindi as "Yuva", this movie is one of the
biggest bilinguals ever.
Surya stars also in "Perazhagan", directed by Sasi
Shankar, under the banner of AVM. He, plays a double
role - one as a college student and the other as a
hunchback with buckteeth. The second character, as can
be imagined, is a comi-tragic role. The man falls in
love with a blind girl (Jyotika), who is about to return
his love when she regains sight with his help.
Madhavan is the other hero to bag a second film. As the
unemployed graduate in "Ethiri", directed by K.S.
Ravikumar, he lives up to his title name as the
inveterate foe of evil social forces, even while
frolicking with heroine Sadha.
Ajith, a real-life racing enthusiast, is playing a
reel-life car- driving coach in "Attahasam", the seventh
film to be directed by Saran. And he will also be a
brawling lord of the street. The makers of the film are
counting on the songs composed by Bharadwaj and penned
by Vairamuthu to be a mega hit.
Two other movies are Teja directed "Jayram" in Tamil and
"Jai" in Telugu and S.J. Surya's "New". This movie is
expected to be a bonanza for Simran fans.
"Chaturangam", under Karu Palaniappan's direction,
featuring Srikanth and Sonia Aggarwal is already making
waves with its unusual promotion strategy. Srikanth
plays a journalist in this movie with Sonia as his
fiance.
