Bala launches a new film with Ajith - 30/08/2005

Bala has temporarily shelved Naan Kadavul with Ajith in the lead. But, he will produce a new film again with Ajith.
P.Vasu who is basking in the success of Chandramukhi will be the director for this mega budget film. The heroine will be Bala’s favorite Laila. She had previously paired with Ajith in Dina. She has been committed for an undisclosed sum which is hugely beyond her normal rates.

Chandramukhi has created records with its massive success, with houseful shows in almost all theatres where the film was screened. The major credit goes to P.Vasu for his directorial perfection. Although this film is a remake, the story was adapted in such a way that it attracted the Tamil audiences. Vasu was expected to direct Rajini again, owing to the hit. But it is Shankar who has grabbed the opportunity of directing Rajin's next film Sivaji. The obviously disappointed Vasu has planned to pair up with Ajith now.

Remember the Devuda, devuda song in Chandramukhi? Not just the song but the film in its entirety has been a super hit. A major part of the credit for the success should go to the director P.Vasu. Although it is adapted from another language, he had tailored the screenplay according to the taste of the Tamil audience and the screen image of Rajinikanth. That his mission has been accomplished is proven by the full house for the film. Therefore, it was indeed reasonable for him to expect a repeat opportunity to work with Rajini. In a recent gathering, he also announced that he would be directing Rajini's next film. However, the Sivaji announcement put paid to such hopes. It will be Shankar's turn in Sivaji. So, Vasu has decided to work with Ajith in his next film. He has also given a script to the actor.
