Start, Camera, Success - Director Lingusamy's success
story
The Ajith starring "Ji" was shot feverishly by director
Lingusamy at
the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. He spoke about
his success
story in a short break.
Director Lingusamy is poised to take his stories based
on real life
examples. His debutant film and a success movie "Anandham"
was
inspired from his joint family residing in Kumbakonam.
Lingusamy didn't receive a warm welcome from the Cine
industry, he
had to strive hard to get himself a place here. He said
he learnt
everything in his career through his hardwork. After
spending
some time with director Venkatesh who has been an
accosiate for
Director Shankar and a decade with Director Vikraman,
Lingusamy
has posted a
particular trend for himself. Also note that he didn't
follow a
similar story line for any of his two stories. His
second hit "Run"
was completely different from his first film
"Aanandham". While
Anandham being a completely family film, "Run" turned
out to be an
action cum romance film and also gave a turning point
for "Maddy"
Madhavan who was a lover boy till then. This film
brought out the
action hero inside Madhavan, who continues his new found
talent upto
his recent action film "Ayudha Ezuthu". One must
consistantly change
his style if he wants to be in the cine field, says the
director.
Scripting has also been his biggest strength. He was
able to handle
things smoothly when he did his first film "Anandam".
We wish that his current venture "Ji" also be a great
hit.

Ajit's Lingusamy directed Ji that was slated for
February 4 release
has been postponed once again!
Producer Nic Arts Chakravarthy says that the film will
be ready by
February 11 or 18! The trade is fuming at this decision
as Ji release
has been postponed for a couple of times. The three
songs have been
canned but the film has not been censored so far.
The latest rumour is that the producer has to sort out
his financial
problems before the release. However Ajit's loss is
Vijay's gain, as
A.M.Ratnam backed,Sukran in which Vijay is playing a
guest role is
releasing on February 18.
Sukran has suddenly become hot among the trade following
the bumper
opening that Tirupachi got.
Raam audio better than Ji?

Teamwork's Ameer directed Raam starring Jeeva, Saranya
and Gajala is
slated for release on Valentine weekend (Feb 11).
Already the audio
of the film is creating waves as all the songs are
chartbusters and
is at the number one slot.
Raam has some great fusion music by Yuvan Shakar Raja,
the current
sensation among the youth. The Ameer-Yuvan combination
has clicked in
the past with Mounam Pesiyathe music being appreciated.
Music critics
feel that Yuvan has matured with some fast numbers and
soft melodies
in Raam that are not only soothing for ears but are also
great in
instrumentation.
The album however belongs to K.J.Jesudas and his son
Vijay Jesudas.
Yuvan has used Kerala instruments like Chenda in the
song Manidhan
Solkindra… sung by father and son. There is only one rap
number Boom…Boom sung by Yuvan, Premji, Tippu and that Jyotsna, that
sensational
female voice from Malayalam.
A song praising mother's affection and love -, Aariro…
is a lullaby
sung by Jesudas and is very similar to the Ilayaraja
classic song-"Ammave…." sung by Rajnikanth in Mannan. Says Poonam of
Star Music
who are marketing the audio: "We never expected Raam
audio to be such
a big hit before its release. It is doing better than
Tirupachi and
Ji audio albums, which speaks volumes about Yuvan's
music".
