Ajith - Home Alone

Ajith is still at home nursing the cartilage he tore during the shooting of a stunt scene of his Mahaa, three weeks back. Now it is almost certain that his Jana directed by Shaji Kailas and due for his birthday (May 1) stands indefinitely postponed.

The general slump in the Tamil film production and lack of money also forced Kaja Moideen, the producer to delay the film. The producer has not been able to sell Janaa at his price in many areas, and he had asked his hero Ajith to slash his astronomical salary, which the star is refusing to do. Meanwhile Shaji Kailas, the director has found greener pastures in Hyderabad where he is directing Vishnuvardhan, son of Telugu superstar Mohan Babu.

Ajith is slowly recovering after the operation and is rumoured to be taking total rest at home! But he is on a campaign telling everybody about his BMW Asia Championship in Malaysia which he is participating on March 23. Ajith could not get a sponsor for the event and has managed to get his good friend and guide producer S.S.Chakravarthy to bear half the cost of his racing dreams.

Another True Story in the making 03/04/03

Attention these days have shifted from the star and story to the director. Actors are not immune to this either. they are somehow convinced that their star power is alone insufficient to draw the crowds to the theatres. They have to have a good director to back them up.

This director had done two film. both were big successes. Both belonged to different genres. Yes.. we are talking abuot Linguswamy. He is shortly gong to direct Ajith.

What sets these movies apart is the fact that the two previous films and the one that he is going to direct for Ajith -are all based on incidents from his own life.

'Aanandam' was based on his joint family and the incidents that had occured while growing up. He then wanted to make a film based on all the fun that he had while in college. But, he stepped a little bit aside and that was how 'Run' was born. When he arrived in Chennai, he went all over the city to make friends with a girl. The love-story of 'Run' owes its origin to that incident.

Now, he is going to share the sweet memories of his youth with us by making it a movie and by having Ajith act in it.

Let's await that film with big expectations.
