An uncomplicated, pleasant tale that manages to hold your interest.
Roja is the servant-maid in a household with Satyapriya and her timid husband Mouli. She gets Karthik's friendship when he and his friend, who are petty thieves, get caught in her house. In a reversal of roles, she 'arrests' them and in exchange for not summoning the police, locks them up in a room till the rest of the family returns.

Karthik learns about her past - that she is actually Mouli's daughter from an extra-marital affair - and starts helping her. He hears her sing once and realising her potential, works hard to get her a chance to sing for a big music director. With this break she becomes a big singer.

Meanwhile, Mouli plans to get her married to his wife's brother(Ajith) who likes her but says he needs three months to make up his mind. Mouli reveals who she is and his family come to stay with her. His family members do their best to get Karthik out of the house and succeed.

Ajith agrees to wed her and Roja likes Ajith but also comes to realise all the sacrifices Karthik has made for her. Who she chooses and why makes up the rest of the movie.

Karthik is subdued instead of his usual, hyperactive self(whether that is good or not, I don't know!) Roja does well in a non-glamerous role while Ajith impresses in a rather lengthy cameo. S.A.Rajkumar comes up with some melodious tunes with Edho Oru Paattu... being tops.
